regneneration time high in wf2

Hi all,

Happy New year..

Iam facing a problem of high regenration time (2 - 3 mins) in W.F 2.0.

iam just having an imported feature form Catia V4 (file size is 54 MB), iam refining the surfaces and closing the gaps created by the data translation. It is a casting

I did not face this problem when I was working on other Pro E files in the same

my proE file size is now 80 MB ..

system info :

OS = windows Xp professional 2002

RAM = 2 GB

processor = 1.7 GHZ intel pentium

Hard disk = 40 GB

Thanks in advance for your help..

Maybe because this file is imported from CATIA you have problems with current proE file. I'm working with large assemblies (with over 40 000 parts and subassembly's), and I don't have any problems during regeneration time. I'm using WF 2.0 M130.
Also if model is complicated and have many features it is normal that regeneration takes some time.

You also did not state which gfx card you have in your machine, graphics card would be one of the major benefactors to rendering time etc. I know that my graphics card is not particularly very good so I am looking to upgrade.

Matija,

I tried your suggestion, the speed didnt improve.

skint,

my GFX card is good enough to open other big assemblies..

iam not sure how this regeneration takes 5 mins each time.

It is not a very complex CATIA model - 55 MB

if i convert the imported geometry to solid, will the speed improve?

thanks
