Replace 1 component in pattern

Hi All,

Using WF3.Let's sayI have a assembled apart, then patterned it 3 times. Is there a way to replace part 2 "only" in the pattern with another family table instance of that part? So at the end I will have a pattern of 3 but with 2 similar parts in it.

i think you can not replace the part in pattren; but if it is not a refreance pattren, then you can switch off one componemt (just click on th black mark to make it whilte) and assemble a new component there.

Hi Sanjeev,

I figured out how to do it after I posted. You make the pattern table of the assembled parts. Then inside the pattern you can change 1 or more of the parts inside the table. You can also make multiple tables to change to different parts inside the pattern. You then call up the pattern tables inside the family table to control what you want for each instance.

This method works very well once you get your head around what is required to use this function

great

i never knew we can do it this way. thanks a lot buddy. but i am still confused about the multiple table and inserting pattren table in family table. can you please explain me more about it

Hi Sanjeev,

You create multiple tables inside the pattern under the dash board. There is a table menu where you can create these. Inside each pattern table you can define how many items are in the pattern and using which parts. Then inside your family table instance you choose to add a pattern table instead. Just like pickingof a dimension or component. Then back inside your family table instance you choose which pattern table you want to use for each instance.
