Replace command

Every time I do a part replace in assembly, I get an error message, must the part that is going to repalce and the replacement part be from a family table. Example: If you want to replace a 7 inch rail with a 12 inch rail, most of myparts are from down loads from vendor websites and do not have a family table. Thanks

On the replace dialogue box, select option as shown below:
