Replace start part

Jeff Appritiate your quick responce.

Problem is like,i have 'A' part having some parameters & now i dont want these parameters.I have to use 'B' part's parameters in Part 'A'.

Is it possible.

I heard it is possible by Grouping but dont know how.

Could u pl.help me out.

Thanks.

Simply remove 'A' part parameters and add 'B' part parameters manually.

If you want to do this action to many parts you can make a mapkey and then run that mapkey to do all that.

Doing it manually is probably the easiest for a one time deal. If it happens often you can create a list of relations in a text file ...

param1 = ""
param2 = 123.456
etc.

... and paste that into the part relations, update then delete the relations if you don't want them.

I think I've also merged a start part then deleted the merge feature to get the params in the past. (Thinking this doesn't work as well in WF2?)

Another method, if this is a large number of files, is to use modelcheck. It can track down parameters, rename them, change the values, look for "illegal" parameters and so on. Plus all the other stuff it can do in terms of "boring-but-neccessary-administration-of-proe-models".

We bought another company and loaded all their file into our systems, and we use modelcheckevery day to changethefiles into our standards (ie our startparts). Works like a charm.

Sorry that was a bad miss.
