I have to sent a proe model to one of my client

Is there any option in parameters so that I can restrict the use of the model

Like see only, cannot modify add new features only.

I have seen some options in parameters.

Access, Designate, Restrict -- What for all these are used

any one is having a video, which explains the requirements of this with an
example

can any one tell me what this link is talking about

http://www.proengineertips.com/part-design/tips-restricted -parameters-in-pro-engineer.html

I am sorry if i u feel that i am going all over

It is because i am a little eager to know that area of proe

hi davisdony
that link isn't working.

& yes...

y not a IGES or a PARASOLID or any neutral file format?

of course it'll be good know the security options in
Pro Engineer.

as far as I remmember right there is something new implemented in WF 4.0 to protect "know-how" included in model while giving it to buisness partner. I suppose it could be simple password protection, but I am not aware of any further details

Taking WF 2.0 and WF 3.0 as a base, You have several ways to accomplish this task:

-neutral format

-Save as > Shrikwrap - Merged Solids

*Shared Data - merge, copy geom and I suppose Inheritance feature

I am also using the same as on now

It would have been wounderfull if they can see the features and cannot edit it

and one more thing

What is
Access, Designate, Restrict in parameters

can any one tell me which, why, when, where, what and how

IF it is with an example then it will be wounderfull

I once used the feature "READ ONLY". But that was just a feature after one
could not mess up with the model. The drawback is that if the other person
knows about it, he/she can remove the feature. But only if he/she knows
about it.

Might be cool to put a password in there. Is that what you guys are suggesting to lock down the features from accidental or costumer modifications?

Ya Bart,

That is exactly i want so that the cusomer can see how the constrection has been done but cannot change model try features.

If he want he can add any. but not tampering with the existing
