Retrieve file from active session memory?

Hello,

I've been working on a new part in WF2.0, and for some unknown reason the part vanishes, window and all, same as if I closed that window purposefully.

My problem is that I had not yet saved the part, so it does not exist in my workspace, so I have nothing to try to bring back. Even if I had saved it and then made further changes when this occurred, I would get the up-to-date version upon re-opening the part since it would call for the part from session memory. right?

Well, since there is no file to re-open, yet if I go to File -> Erase -> not displayed the part in question is listed as being in the active session memory, would that suggest that somewhere on my hard drive the part exists, and if so where?

I know you can attempt to rebuild the part using the trail file, I'm just curious if by chance Pro/E stores an actual temporary file of a model in session memory in addition to the trail file, or if the trail file is my only option.

Thanks for the help!

on your file open dialog box there is a icon that looks like a blue screen..

that will give you the choice of opening files that are in session

so you can have a assembly file open , be working on a new model.. that you will place in the assy....

but unless you save the .prt prior to your... add componet... you won't see it unless you use "in session" of the file dialog box..

kind of cool that they picked a blue screen
