Saving skelton as ordinary part

"Although skeletons can be created only in an assembly, they can be retrieved, operated upon, and saved as ordinary parts"

I have saved a skeleton as an ordinary part using "save as" and given it a name without _skel. I am able to open the part and create solid geometry, but when I attempt to assemble it into an existing assembly it behaves as a skeleton and reorders to the top of the tree.

Anyone know why Pro doesn't see this as an ordinary part?

Create a new standard part and use your skeleton like template or create a new empty standard part (without skeleton) and use menu "File" > "Copy From" and select your skeleton.

Thanks ralexy,

But am I missing something? Help states that it can be saved as ordinary part. That is surely the easiest approach if valid????

ralexy,

Just tried creating new part using the skeleton as template.
It worked perfectly!

And I guess it's easy enough.

If anyone does find a way to directly "save as" I would like to know.

Thanks again
