Sectional View in Assembly!!

Hi all,

I have an assembly. I want to show the sectional view of the whole assembly. Say, i need half sectional view.

For example, i have a hollow cylinder with a rod assembled inside. In assembly mode, i want the half part of the whole assembly to be cut out ( i don't want to see that part) and i need to show hatched sectional view on the cut surface of the other part of assembly.

Could anybody pleasehelp me with this thing.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Puppet, Thanks for your reply.

But, the sectional view i want to show has to be in Assembly mode (not in drawing mode). I mean, i want the hatching to be on a model.

I guess 'local section' and other types of section options are available in 'Drawing' mode.

Thanks

In wildfire--->Try View>View Manager>Xsec.

Rightclick for new Xsec. Middle click.Then select plane along which to get section.Then turn on visibility.Hope this will work

Hi,

Thanks Puppet and Sudhish.

I am using Pro/E 2001. I could create an X-section in assembly mode. But i could not remove one side of the section in the model.

Could you tell me in steps what to do next? which visibility has to be turned on?

I did it in some indirect way. I have cut the model to remove half the assembly. Then i used X-section to show hatching on the cut surface. Is there any other way?

Thanks
