Segregation lines on Protrusion

Hi all


Iam trying to create some protrusions by offsetting edges. The idea here is iam planning to show a couple of linings that come over a metal edge. But the problem iam having is, after i model them, they are not shown as seperateentities but they merge with each other. Is there a way i could show them as seperate entities? Your help is highly appreciated.

Try making it a thin protrusion, i think it will get seperated...

Make an assembly. Each lining should be a separate part.
