select from model tree

There are a lot of times when being prompted to select a surface or curve reference, when I attempt to pick it from the model tree and nothing happens when I click on it. There are other ways to get it (query select, CTRL+F, etc), but I'm annoyed when it happens. It seems at certain prompts I am able to use the model tree, but other times not (usually when I need it most, as luck would have it).


Anybody know any way to control this... am I missing something? Or does this bug everyone else too?

It's one of the many things that drive me craze about Pro that were very easy to do in SW.

It has to be a bug and the only option I know of is to RMB and Pick from List.
