Selection Tool

I recently converted over to Wildfire 2.0 from having used 2001 for the past 6 years. I'm trying to determine if there is better way to do the following: For instance, If I have a subassembly that has a mate offset constraint and I would like to change the value of the offset. The selection tool doesn't allow me to select a subassembly, so I highlight a part that is in the subassembly, right click, click "select parent", right click, click "edit". One used to be able to use the generic "modify" tool and use the query select to be able to select parts/features/subassemblies/etc. without having to activate, etc. Now I'm finding I have to activate/right click/right click/.........

Am I missing something?

Thanks

I'd rather work out in the model window rather than having to work in the tree. However, I'm aware of Wildfire requiring more model tree interaction.

embrace the model tree!

i actually wish there were more functionality in the model tree, but I'm a recent SolidWorks convert where they've been utilizing the model tree for years........

Thanks all. I'm hoping that I'll be able to bring my productivity back where it was and beyond, but will settle for getting back to where I was before the change.
