"selective" assembly section view

Hi all,

I can do this in other soft but can't find it in ProE :

How to get a full section of an assembly but show some components "unsectioned". I went through help on this one and thought I had found it in RMB on the XSEC properties and choosing include/exclude but this only adds or removes the Xhatch of the component, it doesn't alter the section.

So basically what I want to have is fasteners and some center parts unsectioned and the rest of the assembly sectioned, to help understanding the composition. Anyone recognizes a full bolt and nut, cutting it in half doesn't really help.

BTW, still on 2001 on the job.

Properties/Excl Comp is the CORRECT way to do this but the views usually don't update correctly.

To FORCE them to display correctly go to Disp mode/View Disp and change hidden line and tangency disp then change them back again or better still create a mapkey to do this.

This does work however I would not recommend using it on threaded components as you will get overlapping hatch lines and may get incorrect line removal.

After excluding components from the cross section, regenerate the view by selecting View, Update, current view on the top toolbar.

Thanks people, where would I be without you ?? !!
