Shim Bending

New member
I am trying to model a round shim that is bent like an X.

It measures 14 OD x 8.5 ID x .12mm thick

imagine this, you take a shim, set it on a rail and fold it in half. then you rotate it 90 degrees and fold it again.

I am not sure how to approach this? I have tried a blend. Have tried sheetmetal then added a bend, but it will not accept any planes to start the bend from????

Please help

Ok. Sorry, let me rephrase this.

When you bend the shim you will bend it 90 degrees

you will then rotate it90 deg and bend it against the 90 deg bend

what you get is a wavey round shim

Does this make sense?

Hi Jamesman and welcome to the forum...Did you try to use the Warp feature for bend and rotation of the shim? This feature is very powerful and pretty easy to use.
