Showing internal passages

Using Wildfire 3.0, is there a way to display internal passages (i.e. showingoil or coolant flow pathsthrough ducts in an engine). Are there ways to do this in a wireframe view, or 'ghost' the outer surface while having a solid color for the inner passage surfaces.

If you can lead me in the right direction, that would be great...thanks,

Mike

When we were modelling hydraulic supply passages through a block, we'd set theinternal surfaces (cavities, holes, etc)to different colours, and then increase the transparency of the solid until the passageways became obvious.

This was always useful to ensure that cross drillings met, etc....

You can change the acutal model colors to create transparency. Use View > Color and Appearance, select a color and under Advanced, set the transparency to your desired level.

This can be applied to the entire model or to specific surfaces:

Solid/Opaque part:

Here is a solid part, For illustration I will change the color of the outer surfaces:

Now set the level of transparency to this color under appearance editor:

You can alsogive the whole model a level of transparency:

I have found when using the method that jraquet is showing that 50% transparency works pretty well and printing is pretty clean too. It might not be a bad idea to save one of these transparent colors in your pallet. The PTC glass color works ok, but personally, I think it is kind of dark.
