Showing Model Parameters Within Formats

I imported an AutoCAD format into ProEngineer. In the format where the material is specified, it original read "MAT'L : X" where "X" would be modified by the user. When I imported the format into ProE, I changed this to the following "MAT'L : &material" so that the material would be directly retrieved from the model. However, this isn't working. When I bring the model and format together, the &material parameter isn't being changed.Am I doing something wrong?

When I create a table within the format and put "MAT'L : &material" inside the cell, it works perfectly.Do I have to construct my formats as a series of tables in order to get the parameters to correctly update?

As a test, I added the following lines into the format as a note not using a table: "Drawing Name = &dwg_name" and "Model Name = &model_name". Both of these parameters updated successfully.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hedging your bets on multiple sites I see.

I think &dwr_name and &model_name are both drawing parameters where &material is a model parameter.

Model parameters have to be inside tables in formats.

You can add those parameters any where you whant in the dwg.I would just add them to the B.O.M. Just to make a more appealling. Or as you mention create a new table is works just fine. One more thing I belive there's system parameter copysome where in this site. If you don't find it I could send you a copy if you wish.
