Shown dimensions

I have a question about shown dimensions. Okay, say i have a plate to be mounting to... a frame. I add the first hole (using the hole function) and add five more holes using a hole table(so now i have a plate with 3 holes on the top and 3 holes on the bottom). The problem i am having is this: when i use show/erase to add dimensions, all the dimensions are shown from the corner i used to locate the originalholefrom, but the dimensions from hole to hole is much more important to me. so long story short, is there a way to dimension from hole to hole in the hole table function so that it shows up as such in show/erase?

Make the first hole the bottom centre hole referenced to a vertical and horizontal datum plane or similar so it has a small x and y dimension.
Now create your pattern from this hole.
When finished, edit the placement dimensions of the first hole back to 0

Not to get back in to a debate that has been carried out on this forum a number of times, but don't bother with the shown dims and just dimension your drawing as you need.

I'm with prohammy: use created dimensions exclusively. By this method, you won't get confused by which dimensions are shown and which are created, and you won't confuse design intent with dimensioning schemes better suited to fabrication and inspection. And it's easier anyhow. Don't change your model dimensioning scheme just to pretty up your drawing: keep print dimensions on the print.
