simplified representation for a part

I have created some simplified representations for a part. Now, I want to show them in a drawing but this option is not active.

Can this be done?

Why does WF let me create a simp rep in a part if I can't use it in a drawing, makes no sense or is it a way?

Thanks.

Hi,

What did you do do in simplified rep of the part, Excluded feature??.if so use family table to get the same in the drawing.I dont think there is any way you can take the part simplified rep in drawing.

yes. you cannot put a simplified rep of a part in drawing.

Simplified rep for part is used to create simplified rep in assembly; by using the substitude option.

If you really want to show it in your drawing, there is a workaround>>
create a new asm > insert the part into asm > create a asm simp rep by using sunstitude > create a drawing for the 'assembly'

I used "surfaces" as option. Because my part isa blend so I can't create a family table. And I want to show these "walls" separately in drawing.

But the idea with the assy will work, because with the substitute option I can select the part and select the simplified rep from the part. So it's good to something this "simplified rep" option in part, after all.

Thanks.

Hey PTC if you "hear" this, make simplified rep available in drawing for a part also.

I think you don't need to create a new assembly to add simp.rep. views to the drawing. But to show part at deferents position well I'll just do like suggested above and create a family table it could be the easyest and fastest way to do it.

Because my part has only one feature (blend/general) that gives the main geometry, I can't make a family table and I can't make different views of the part because I need to dimension every piece.
