sketched spline tangency

Anyone knows how to adjust one end of a spline-sketched-curve in order to make it ortogonal (or tangent) to a construction line?? (without Style).

Thanks

ilmegor,

You can create a construction line at the end of spline and constrain the spline ortogonal or tangent to the line.

Thanks Jayuy,

But it doesn't work! I tried either with a construction line starting from the end or just passing through the end point of the spline but it says: invalid selection, try again.

ilmegor,

You have to create two construction lines at the end of the spline one construction is normal to the otherthen constraint the spline tangent to one of the construction line.hope this helps

WOW! Yes it works but.....well I could not expect form ProE to make it simpler like: right click->normal to ...

Thanks a lot.

In dimension tool, pick the spline, pick the endpoint, pick the construction line then place the dimension with the middle mouse button.

Also, u can control curvature at perpendicular point by creating a dimesion at that one. Click dimesion button, pick the end point and place the dimesion with middle mouse button.

ilmegor,

I do not recommend using the tangency or orthogonal constraints with
splines. The sketcher does not seem to maintain them when the
sketch is changed. I always dimension the angle of the end of the
spline. Also, you can constrain the curvature of two splines that
meet to be equal, but this doesn't work. The constraint will show
up, but if you do a curvature analysis you will see that the curvatures
are different. If you want equal curvature, you need to dimension
the curvature and set the values equal to each other.

Oh, this is with Pro 2001. Not sure if this is fixed in WF 1
or 2. Just be aware and maybe experiment with these things.
