Sketcher colors (Pre-wildfire Scheme)

Hi all,

I always use 'pre-wildfire scheme' for my system colors. We recently "upgraded" to buildcode M160 (WF3) and now I have a problem with my sketcher entity colors. I'm so used to seeing blue sketch entities, yellow dimensions and gray weak dimensions. It's all messed up now and all I see is pale yellow sketch entities and dimensions and I can't even tell the difference between weak and strong dimensions. Did anyone else have the same problem? Also, I don't like to set the colors manually (infact the colors set now are the right colors, but its just not showing up in the sketcher). Hopefully there's a config option or something to take care of this. Appreciate any help. Thanks folks. Have a great holiday weekend.

Edit: Clarified title

Don't know if this helps but we are running M160 with no such problems. That at least elminates the potential build issue.

If you haven't already, tryresetting your system colors and use the syscol file if need be.

Thanks for that input Jason. Well, are you using pre-wildfire color scheme though? (Blended blue background, Magenta/yellow surfaces etc.,) We are currently using a syscol file (from before) to set our color schemes. But having read your post now I am thinking may be I should take that old file out, redo the colors and save it from the current wildfire buildcode. I am gonna try it out and will post the result. Other inputs are always welcome. Thanks!

If others in your company are having this same issue I'd bet money that's your problem. I've never seen a company push out a syscol file to all users, it's usually a user preference that's loaded locally. My recommendation is to use the system default colors for everyone and let the users decide if they want to change things like their backgrounds.

Users leaving and coming into your company won't be as confused since most companies use the defaults. Also, a lot of training material uses the default colors for geometry selection, datums, and graphics as reference so changing those would make for unnecessary confusion as well. About the only thing I change is my background, it's blackmost of the time. Hope everything works out!

No, the syscol file doesn't come from the server. It has my own settings and is saved locally. Also, the only 'custom' setting that I have is to use the 'pre-wildfire scheme' under the System colors. I too do not like changing the default colors and its just that I am more comfortable with my 'pre-wildfire' colors. Also, there's another user here who has an identical syscol file as mine and is having the same trouble too.
Going back to my question again, are you by any chance using the 'pre-wildfire' color scheme?

Sorry to get off on that tagent, no, I'm using default Wildfire colors with my background as the only setting changed. Back to the original question in the thread, I think you are seeing the Wildfire settings and for some reason your syscol that specifys that you want pre-wildfire isn'tbeing read for some reason.

Here is what I get with Wildfire settings:

Jason,

Thanks very much for those pics and that's exactly what I wanted to see. Do you see those 'pre-WF' entities being kinda pale yellow and the dimensions are white, that's not how it is supposed to be though. Sketch entities should be blue, diemsions be yellow, weak dims should be gray (like in say 2001). (The problem part with that being you won't be able to distinguish between entities, weak and strong dims) While you are in the sketcher, try dragging an entity and you will see the right pre-wf color scheme appearing. I think it's a bug with this buildcode as I didn't have this problem before. Anyways, I am not gonna bother with logging a call with PTC or anything and am just gonna start using the wildfire scheme, atleast for now.

Thanks again bud.. Have a good one.
