Sorting Repeat Regions

I need to be able to sort a repeat region so that the item numbers read left to right as attached to the exploded assembly view. Just to be clear, I want item 1 to start on the left and item 10 to be farthest to the right side of my exploded view. This is a company standard that I am forced to use. I know I can sort ascending or decending, but can I sort each item manually to make sure the BOM balloons are in the specific order that I want? Is there a way to make my default table show this whenever I use it? Is this even possible, or do I have to fight to get the standard changed?

Thanks in advance.

skraba,

Thanks for the reply. I did get the answer on ProUser, but I still appreciate you taking the time to help out.

Thanks again.

There is another way to put in an artificial component order but it is fairly messy (probably worse than Fix Index) however it may give another forum user an idea about how to make it more useful.

The general concept is

Either name EACH component (the same way as you name a feature) in a way the will define the sort order

OR

Create a COMPONENT parameter for EACH component that defines the sort order

List the selected option in the table using asm.mbr.comp.name (non-editable in drawing) for the first method or &asm.mbr.cparam.sort_order (editable in drawing) for the second method

Define this as the sort order and edit as necessary to get it to EXACTLY match &rpt.index

Finally remove the &rpt.index column
