Spiral springs

Insert --> Helical sweep, Select a datum plane, Sketch a centre line and a continuous line for defining the spring length and coil radius, Give done, Then give the pitch valuu, Then draw the cross section.
 
BUt that was the easier part!!!!!

Now how to create other types of helical springs like Square helical spring / Variable pitch helical spring and others

For a "square" spring, create a square extruded cylinder. Along the center of the squre extrusion trajectory use a VSS and sweep a straight radial line. Use TRAJPAR in the sketcher relations to make the single line trace out a corkscrew. Create a curve at the intersection of the two features. That is the trajectory of your square spring. Use a regular sweep along that trajectory.
