Hi, everyone. First time on the website here. I'm a final year design student at strathclyde university and i'm having trouble designing a spring to an exact specification. Can anybody help?
Assuming it is a helical spring, you want to use a helical sweep, probably with variable pitch so you can have closed ends. If you need ground ends use an extruded or revolved cut. If you search in the files section you will find lots of springs, don't know if any of them are educational versions.
