Springs

Has anyone ever created a spring and used relations to keep the spring from failing (hooks on the ends usually fail)when you change the pitch. So you can use the spring as a template to create others, without having to work through the failures. Is it possible?

hi man...u request is not applicable......changing the pitch means a total shange int spring charachteristics.......

I have created a spring, "with hooks", that has relations so that you can change the length, spring diameter, wire size, and/or pitch that will not fail. If someone can tell me how to get the dimension symbols to show on the screen, instead of the dimensions, I will gladly post my method, with pictures, so you can view it.

I THINK THERE IS NO NEED TO DO ANYTHING SPECIAL, WHY HOOKS FAIL?? WHAT METHOD U ADOPT, USE SWEEP FOR HOOK AND USE SPRIND END FACE (CIRCULAR) CENTER POINT FOR TRAJECTORY START POINT.

The model from the files area only 'fails' for me the first timeI convert it into metric sizes. After that its fine.

are you asking how to show "A" for dia "B" for pitch?

if so edit a feature with these dims highlight dim /right click dim /properties replace the @D with @S and in the name type in the "A"

No, that is not what I wanted. In older versions of Proe, you could "switch dimensions", and all dimensions on the screen would toggle between their dimension and their symbol name.
