STEP cleanup request

Hi all,


I have a motor component that has been translated from Catia. When I click IDD to clean up the long "lance" surface that sticks way out, ProE crashes. Can anyone attempt this? Further cleanup is not needed as I just want this as a representation ina drawing. Please PM me for the file asit exceeds the 2 MB limit foruploading.

did you check it without IDD?? If it contain gaps or overlapping then you may need IDD, but if it is imported properly dont do anything with IDD. or you can repair surface by self.

I could send you the file to look at. It's got pieces missing all over, and just has this one lance piece sticking out to the one side, which will make it awkward in a drawing. I have an assembly for a motor that I wanted to plop into my assembly to verify motor mounts, exhaust hookups, and I want to show the placement and check the fit of some brackets that we made to hang the air filter and the rad fluid overflow pot.


In IDD you can point to a surface 'component' and just delete it, but it kicks me out as soon as I go into IDD. Is there another way to get rid of i pesky surface?

your parts needs a lot of work. If you have step file, or any other format file, plz send to me. I will check it in other softwares like Catia, UG, Solidedge and Solidworks too. Wherever I get best results, I will send you the part.
