Hello all

I want this topic to be begining of each strange problem You notice in Pro\e while modeling, with a tip how You solved it.

Here it is one of mine:

There was a part as shown above. I wanted to make a cut to highlighted
surface but not through all. At first attempt everything was ok, but
after doing some changes into model the result was different(through
all)

To handle this situation I created a new special surface which was
first copied from oryginal and than trimmed by curve to received a
interested me one

.

Do You have any other ideas how to handle this? Or maybe You now why it happens?

Sounds like your losing your surface reference when you change or update the selected surface. I havent went in and looked but there may be an option when selecting quilts to project to where you can change the reference from independent to dependent. If its not in the feature options it is probably in the system options.

To Cpiotrowski - well I did not search in configs. I just add a second
side or change side of depth extrude and it seems that it works too.
However the first way of special surface is much stable.

Ok, lets continue the strangest situation You can meet in Pro\e.

Another time I was trying to add a material to another cylindrical
surface for specified depth, and of course it failed, just look below

What is important - Pro\e allow to make this extrude to the front of
cylinder as "To selected". And than remove uneccesary material. Another
way is to make this extrude before cylinder or move it in model tree

Do You have an idea why Pro\e has these problems with cylindrical
surfaces? It specialy appear when there is tangency betwwen flat and
cylindrical surface
