surface finish symbol on model

herb

New member
I have a modeler / drafter that has placed a surface finish symbol on a view in his detail drawing. The guy who makes our owners manuals is complaining that now the symbol is showing up on the model. I check and sure enough, there it is! Is there a way to turn off the surface finish symbol on the model and still have it appear on the drawing detail.

The method used to place the symbol on the detail is: insert/surface finish/retreive/machined/standard1.sym. Then place on surface, etc, etc.

The only way that I know, is to put the surface finishes on a layer, and hide them in the model layers. In the drawing unhide them. The surface finishes show up early in the model tree. You must select them from the model tree to put them on the layer.

Make sure that the drawing option draw_layer_overrides_model is set to YES.
