I never worked with style, but until now every curve that I encountercould be hide by layers. So try layers. See if your curve is in a layer then hide that one, if it's not put it in a layer and hide it.
The curves made in style are part of the style feature and will not hide like datum curves. You can hide the style feature in total ( including the surfaces) on a layer. If you merge the style surface with another surface then you will still see the surface made with style even though the style feature is hidden.
