Swept Blend actin funny on me

Hi,

The profile will depend on the origin traj if you are using normal to origin traj. You have other options like pivot dir and normal to traj.if you dont want the profile to move normal to origin traj then use pivot dir or normal to traj.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, I do not understand what you mean by Pivot Dir or Normal to Traj. I used Normal to Origin Trajectory. The only other two choices I thought were Constant Normal Direction and Normal to Projection. Conceptually the one I chose is the one that promotes highest accuracy in what I am trying to achieve.

Please explain why you think the problem might be related to my choice of Normal to Projection.

Hi,

Which version of proe are you using?.Well let me try to explain it to you in a better way.constant notmal diresction is same as pivot direction and normal to projection is same as normal to trajecty.

here is anbrief descriptionfor normal to origin trajectory.
the profile(section) will allways move normal to the origin trajectory(the one you selected as trajectory). it is actually a replica of sweep(provided the c/s is same throughout).since the profile will move normal to the traj it is verymuch dependent on the traj profile.if you make even a small mistake in the curved profile then you will endup with the model as you see in your post. to avoid that we use normal to traj option wherein I am given an option to select another traj, and the profile will be normal to this traj.I would prefer to use a straight line as a normal trajectory.

let us know if you are still faccing problem with it.

Regards.

Deepak Bhat

Your model is in wf3.I have still not upgraded to wf3. as for the pic, I think the problem is because of the sharp bend in the left end of the traj.
