Target Points in Modeling

Hi,

I need to create target points in modeling and show them in drawing.i went to setup-->geomtol-> Make target point. Itlooks disabled...or deactivated..

I'm not sure this is because of config file or something else.

need help asap.

Thanks in advance.

You can create the points in the model or while you are creating the targets in drawing mode. To create the targets, go to your drawing, select Insert>Draft Datum>Target. You'll need to set a plane or axis to a datum using the set datum option or changing the type in the properties dialog box.

Thanks Kdem and davisdony.

My customer wants to show the datum points in drawing mode using "SHOW/ERASE" method. He doesn't want to create it in drawing as kdem explained.

If you notice SHOW/ERASE tab, you can see target datum pointoption. That means that we can create that datum point in model and show them in drawing.

But my problem is that "Make target" point option is disabled in model by default. I donn't know why..?

I saw this also, however I've never seen it used. Looking through the documentation I only found a reference to this option in PRO/Legacy under the Other Modules. I haven't used this option, but from what I can tell it doesn't look like this option is used for what you are wanting to do. The only way I've seen datum targets created has been in drawing mode.

Thanks kdam.. I'm thinking if it is not used in modeling, then why they have that option in modeling module... I tried in Pro-E help. But its vague...

Anyhow, i followed the same way u said, and it works fine..

Thanks again.

I'm not sure about this but I think it's related to the Menu Manager used in earlier versions of ProE. Since I haven't used earlier versions I can't say for sure.

Are you talking about creating a plane in drawing mode or are you talkng about the draft feature?I couldn't determine where "draft tangent datum" came from.
