Goals to address for completion:
1) Make at least four objects in a computer system including:

(this took me two hours so you should have plenty of time

)

Guidelines:
1) Use Pro-e for all modeling, assembling and rendering
2) Submit the final image of the model no later than September 30, 12:00 GMT
3) Extensions of time will be issued if all teams have not submitted
4) Be considerate of your fellow team mates who may have very different backgrounds and abilities. It is a team effort so if someone falls behind you should find a way to finish for them. Keep a good eye on the days. I suggest to start the render by the end of day 6.

and most importantly

Have Fun!

Submit your final render to this thread by 12:00 GMT, September 30. If the target time passes then the team leader should post a simple note requesting an extension...

p.s. Don't lose your job by doing this exercise at work, instead of your work

I did get Halo last night. Whats your name on there so I can add you to my friends list.

Picked my copy up today. I will be playing it Thursday night. Username is Evil Skint.

Well, it's hardly been a team effort, that is to say everything was done by one person ... I could not be arsed to render it in pro/e it feels like driving you daily car amongst formula 1 cars on a race track, I'll put it in Maxwell later on and make a decent render. Pictures below are hence not rendered,I gave up during texturing. Total modeling time approx 20 hours. All components are sub assemblies and not one part different color models. Covers are skeleton driven.Pc is a mix of plastics (front and sides) with internal sheet metals. Cabling used for the power cords. Connectors come from molex data base. The only thing I'm not to happy with is the way I did the keyboard

Next time a different team please ...

Nick

time's up...

It appears that individuals made the most effort so in that regard, Dojo has done the most effort. Is there anything you did not model in your system, Dojo? The detail is amazing for just a week. A very nice setup indeed.

For all the rest, I hope you enjoyed the exercise and feel free to suggest the next one. I think the idea of a challenge model generated significant attention. If there was enough free time I am sure everyone would have been able to post a result.

In any case, thanks to all for participating and I hope to give it a try in future challenges...

cheers,

M

The only things i did not model are the connectors, nothing reused, just modeled hence the boring layout and no innovation or interesting concepts.

Time frame was to small for that and regarding it was done after work hours

Dojo

Dojo, nice work.

Given tha fact there is no other picture to compare from the other teams yours is the best. I think I've seen a keyboard and a monitor screen from the other teams. But nothing more than that, yours is complete.

I still wonder what happened with your team mates and with the other teams as well.

Excellent work dojo

Well done for completing all this yourself in approx 20 hrs....with the help of two - three others you could of modelled the complete room too

I apologise for not being able to participate in this challenge, unfortunatly work decided to send me away this week with no access to pro-e

Also, congrats to magneplanar for arranging and successfully seeing through the first challenge. This challenge has atleast demonstrated the main problem which is organisation of teams, rules etc... but for the most part Mag, you did a great job !

thanks for your participation and comments...feel free to post your results anytime...as others mentioned, the time was probably too tight for people to handle in their spare time...

remember it was all for fun anyway...

cheers,

M

Has the topic of submitting the actual models so we can learn from them been discussed? (sorry - I haven't had a chance to read all the sourounding topics)

Dojo, Nice work - looks great!

Dojo,

Nice job! I liked the computer internals the best. Great rendering. I'm going to have to work harder on my rendering attempts from now on.
