Hi,

anybody has experience with these 2 PDM\PLM application. Soon our company need to chose one of this and I don't know how ProE will work with these 2 PDMs

What do you recommend?

Thx,

CC

I used teamcenter at an old company with WF1-2. Very slow when working with large assemblies. Talked with a few buddies that still work on it with WF3. Still wait 45 min. + for large asm. I'm currently on WF4 with Windchill. While the look of windchill is kind of clunky, windchill 10 is supposed to be a revamp. Windchill is very fast. I do alot of surfacing, big models, ect... and it works great. If you are sold on Teamcenter, see if you can talk to others that are using it, don't just talk to the managers, ect... talk to the actual users to see what they think.

We use Teamcentre for PLM and Intralink for DDM and it's a pita but of course the people making the decisions never thought to ask the actual users what is best for them. Much as I rail against a lot of what PTC do if your using Pro-E as your CAD tool then it's resonable to manage the data with a PTC product.

One of ourlocations has used TeamCenter for over 20 years for Catia. So when it came time to pick a PLM system for ProE, we didn't have much choice. We are in the process of setting up our system. I do know that companies like Goodrich, Emerson, Aerojet, BAE Systems, Honeywell, Mercury Marine, Daimler and Caterpillar all use Teamcenter to manage there ProE files.

I worked for one of the company's listed in the previous post, and we had extremly long wait times for large asmemblies. They still currently do. But, the reason for chossing TeamCenter was not just to manage ProE data. They use the system to do the entire ERP stuff. TeamCenter was the better choice at the time for all that they wanted it to do. If you strickly where looking to manage ProE, then Windchill is the choice.
