The import geometry contains small edges

glue

New member
Good morning,

I'm trying to get rid of the 6 green highlighted points as shown below:

However it's not as easy as I thought and the little information I found deals with ProE 2001 and I can't find the WF2 correspondance.

I have the following modify surface menu, what am I suppose to do next?

Thank you for your time

Vitadj, I have the following error message when trying to open your file:

- smalledges_mod.prt.1 was created in a newer release of Pro/ENGINEER.
- smalledges_mod.prt.1 is not a valid PART file.
- smalledges_mod.prt.1' cannot be retrieved.

Guess your using WF3?

Is there an alternative way to open the file or would you be ok to tell me how you got rid of those edges?

Many thanks for your kind help

Seb

Puleeezzze put version id's on file postings.

Reference Help -> Data Exchange -> DataDoctor ...

Edit the import feature definition. Geometry menu -> Heal Geometry -> Manual
(Auto if you're brave.)

Look at FixQuiltBndry and Edit Bndry -> ... -> Modify -> ... (Merge edges will
be of interest for this one)

There's not much that helps with surface theory in Pro/E documentation.

KB articles if you have access
Suggested Technique for Redefining Imported Surfaces
Suggested Technique for Utilizing the Import Data Doctor Automatic Surface Cleanup Functionality
(References for Auto healing, IIRC. Was one of them in an old Pro-Files magazine?)

web search [pro/engineer datadoctor]
(I need to spend some time browsing, might be something good.)

Many Thanks jeff!!!
