Thread Modeling - Help

Hello. This is my first post but I have been a member for quite a while. Usually I just read a lot.
Something
has got me stumped. I am trying to model a special thread onto a part
with a curved surface and I cannot figure out how to do it. I have
tried everything I know but I can only get an approximate model. I
need to be accurate as I want to produce an SLA of the finished part.
I
have attached a copy of the part model (WF 2.0) that I have been
working from and a 2D layout of an old revision (same thd needed).
Can
anyone tell me what modeling technique to use to create the "special
thread"? I much appreciate your time and assistance. Thank you.

dr_gallup. Thanks for the quick reply. I have updated the picture to be more clear. Sorry about that.

I will give the helical sweep a try. But I am not sure where to begin with that since it is only 1 thd/inch.
 
I think this is correct, still hard to tell for sure since your model seems to have a lot of extraneous geometry in it and the drawing seems to be pictorially incorrect in many ways.

Anyway, it gives you an idea of how to make the thread.

dr_gallup...Thanks so much for taking the time to help out!!! I stepped through the model you created and realized I could have done things a lot cleaner. For instance, I created the main body using surface techniques, merge and solidify. Having reviewed how you made it made me laugh at myself. I should know better was my initial thought. Anyway....

The extra geometry that was present are the newest features I needed to incorporate into the part. Taking an existing part, adding new feature and create a new part. The drawing I posted is of the original part and done some time ago on an ancient CAD system (ME10).

I really can't thank you enough for your help. Excellent work!
