threaded hole question

New member
I need to
make a threaded hole through the length of a cylinder

SW 2007

Cylinder
diameter 50mm

Cylinder
length 40mm

Threaded
hole 1.250-18 (through all)

Am I
correct that 1.250 is the diameter , and that
18 is the pitch ?

I have
never worked with inch before, so how do I select this 1.250-18 thread ?

The hole
wizard?

Thanks,

1.25 is the major diameter, and 18 is the number of threads per inch. you can use the hole wizard, however it will not actually thread the hole for you (per say).

The hole wizard will only create a cosmetic representation of the thread- if you need actual thread geometry, you will need to create a hole, then sweep a profile down a helix.
