Trail files are meant as a last resort in case of calamity. The fact that they are more or less readable makes that you can edit until the last offending command and try to rerun the session and get a "save" before the moment that things went out of hand. Trail files are not meant as a way to drive ProE. The reason being that the generation of a trail file is context sensitive. Run it on another computer or with a different screen resolution and you're off.
In a session, if you have saved the part one or more times, and you re-run the entire trail file of that session, does the session start with the correct (older) file of that part, or does it start with the part as it is in memory or with the last saved file ..?
I'm currently trying to recover from a mistake that I made. I didn't save when I was done. The trial file is 2Meg. I've only gotten through the first 10 percent so far.
You need to put all of the versions of the files that were changed after the trail file (drawing session) was started into another folder for safe keeping (in case the trail file doesn't work).
