trail files

open trail.txt file in wordpad, delete last few lines, and then save as .txt file.

Now close ProE and reopen it. Under the Tools menu click on trail file and browse to where you saved your before-mentioned .txt file.

My experience is it works if you have not used save button while in session before trail file is created.

I hope this helps.

So what controls when a trail text is written? Everyone i know who uses proe has no idea what the trail files are for, or how they can be used for your benefit.

has there been more in-depthdisscussion on this topic here? I'll have to search the topic.

Trail files are always created. Config option "trail_dir" can be set to where you want the trail file to go. If not specificied in config file it will go to the directory where Pro/E was started from.

I've been using trail files to recover my work, if accidentally lost. Although, you can analize each work session (done by you or somebody else). You can set in config.pro the way you want the trail file to run (step by step or continous.
