Transformed Surfaces

It used to be that a nice trimmed and merged (surface merged that is) could be mirrored and copied by the surface transform command.

This doesn't seem to be the case anymore in WF3, only the underlying surface that gets selected seems to get transformed.

I hope I'm wrong, can anyone confirm ??

If you select the quilt, not an individual surface or surface feature, you can mirror it using edit -> mirror. There are several ways to select a quilt.

To select a quilt using the smart feature, first select one of the features that make up the quilt, then, moving your mouse over the quilt you'll see individual surface. If you them RMB through the selection options or RMB and hold and pick 'select from list', you'll see the quilt itself highlight or in the list. Select it and then edit -> mirror.

You can also change your selection after you are in the mirror command. For example, select one surface of a larger quilt, select 'edit -> mirror and then change you selection by RMB'ing through the options until the quilt highlights.

Or, you could just change the 'smart filter' in the lower right to 'Quilts' and that's all Pro|E will let you pick.

Doug,

That did the trick, thanks..

Don't think many people are using surfaces even now judging by the responses to my post.
