Trouble creating surface curve from IGES

Hi

I have a igs file which contains the geometric coordinate
of an airfoil. I am trying to open it in ProE using the
'insert >Datum > curve > from file ' command. However,
it does not seem to work, because nothing shows up on
the screen, except that a screen a log message pops up.

My goal is to create a surface of the airfoil shape from this igs file, and export it as a new iges file, so that it could be opened up as a database file in a grid generation program called Gridgen.

Please Help.

hi,

i think u save an iges as proe part file and then it open and use copy from external ref command and copy all curve from that to new file then u start ur

work

If you downloaded the airfoil form...

try to open the IGES file in sketch mode then you can scale it up and down inside the sketch relative to the leading edge. ... thats how its done inside sketcher. try that.
