Hi can anyone help me how to do a Tyre 3D model in Pro/E WF 5.0 with the 2D data of the Thread patterns from AutoCAD, i mean the best practises andTechniques.

Also it would be of great help if u can also teach me how should icreate a Mold for the Tyre model using TDO..

Thanks in advance..

Hi!

I have created a model to exolain the procedure I feel is best to model a tyre.

Open the model goto model player and check out the steps.

Hope you get the idea.

As regards the mold design, I have the advantage package and do not have the mold design module.Secondly mold design is a subject that cannot be taught,it comes out of practice. You use empirical data for reference only.

Not true, there is a lot about mold design that can be taught. Experience and practice will always help to understand the subject better but there are elements of mold design that can definetely be taught.

A real tire is much more complex than that.

I work with tires for over 20 years and modeled tires from companies such as Pirelli, Goodyear, Bridgestone, Continental, etc..

It takes about a year or more to train a person to be proficient with modeling tire tread due to be a very complex geometry and to know all the tools of Pro / ENGINEER to help make this type of modeling.
