Un-highlighting model

SrGilberto

New member
(I use Pro/E Wildfire 2.0)

In drawing mode, when I select "View"then "Drawing Display" then "Edge Display", I get a pop-up menu. On the pop-up menu there is a selection "Highlight Mod". When I select that there are certain edges that become highlighted (they turn bold blue).

My problem is that I've not seen any selection that allows me to un-highlight the model/edges. What I've been doing to redraw the views without the highlighted edges is to save the drawing then erase it from session then bring it back up again. Is this weird? Am I overlooking something that is incredibly obvious, but just can see it?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

I remember doing something very much like this and wasn't able to find a way to un-highlight the modified edges in WF2.0. Now I am running WF3.0 and just checked to see if something has changed on that command. Guess what! there is no 'Highlight Mod' in that menu anymore. Guess PTC has done away with that (may be they couldn't figure how to fix it).

One way to get it back to normal is.

Select Default (from Edge Disp)andselect the view by drawing a box. (This should select all lines in that view).

As far as I can tell, there is ZERO documentation* on this.
Knew I'd seen it ... somewhere ... somewhere ... somewhere ...

menu: Info -> Show Modifed Edges

* The only place there's any mention is in Unsupported Undo/Redo Operations.

I would HOPE that, at least, that's been rectified in WF3, 4.

Please, someone; tell me it's so.

It works the same in both WF2 and WF3. In WF3 the Highlight Mod is removed from the View>Drawing Display>Edge Display but the Info>Show Modified Edges is still there which is used to show the modified edges.

Actually, I was hoping the Help had been corrected so a search for
"highlight mod" or "edge display" would lead you into the answer.

Armed with a new search term; "show modified", now that we know what
to look for, I did find a (WF2) reference in
. Pro/Detail
.. 2-D Drafting
... Modifying Draft Entities
.... To Trim Draft Geometry

I think someone must have misplaced it there instead of in
.. Working with Model Views
... Defining Drawing Views
.... Modifying View Display
..... To Modify Individual Edge Display

("edge display" search does lead to the Drafting section, but ...)

I went and looked through the WF3 documentation and the reference material is still in the same place. I found it under To Trim Draft Geometry using the search tab.

Oh, well. Maybe next season.
