Unwanted Notes

I'm working on someone else's model and they seem to have insetred tolerance notes into the model itself.

View attachment 4035

I've tried hiding everything I can think of and they won't go away. The note on the left is attached to the extrude feature on this part. The note on the right dosent seem to be attached to anything (aside from maybe the default ucs). I cannot get the note ont he right to go away at all. Not even if I suppress absolutely everything in the model tree and layer tree individualy.

Pleh!

Edit:
I'm a liar. The note on the left is not attached to the extrusion. It is attached to nothingness just like the one on the right.

Rb,

Have you tried to create a new layer (Eg Geom Tols), add the two items to it and then blank the layer?

So, is this type of labeling a ProE function, or were these symbols drawn in manualy.

If I wanted to get rid of them all together (not just hide them), could I do so w/o messing with the tolerances?

Rb,

This type of 'labelling' is geometric tolerancing. If you look at the drawing of the above part, you should see those exact 'label' in the drawing (more than likely attached to a specific dimension. If they are not in the drawing , then I would say that you are pretty safe to delete them from the model (I would cehck with the original designer if possible)

Cheers

Unfortunately I don't have the drawings that go with these models

Do you think you could describe in greater detail how to setup/edit/delete the tolerances to display as shown above? Do you need to have the part modeled and detailed before you insert/specify them? I understand what the geometric tolerances are, but i've never come across then displayed on the part/asm level like this.

Thanks again

Rb,

(All the next is for WF1, may be different depending on what version of WF you have)

Edit>- Setup>- Geom Tol is the option you want to get at these in the assy..... 'Clear'option gets ride of them

Cheers

I can't tell you if it is safe to delete them but...

If you change the selection filter in the lower right corner to "annotations", you should be able to select, then delete them.

Thanks glenn. This was what disturbed me most, the fact that I didn't have easy access to edit the geo tols. I was sure that it was accessable somewhere, but it bugged me that i wasn't able to select them by default and pull up the usual properties. This clears things up.

Thanks again.
