Using relations in multiple assemblies

Can someone tell me if it is possible to use relations in one assembly to control dimensions on a part in another assembly?

What I am doing it creating a overhead view, a right side view and a left side view. All help is appreciated. I want to be able to change the dimensions in the overhead and have the others change with it.

In my mind I understand what you are asking, but I don't know why you would ask such a thing in this situation.

If you create the assembly in 3d, and the parts in 3d. Then, you do not need multiple drawings for views, but to just select a different view in the same assembly.

In any case, if you create a part, and use that part in two different assemblies, then edit the part, all the associated assemblies will be affected.

I see what you are saying. I have only been using Pro_e for 2 months now. So if I draw the whole box and want to get a 2d view of one side or the other how would you do that in the drawing?

The purpose of Pro/E, is 3 dimensional modeling.

If you start a new part., and choose a datum plane to draw on, then choose "sketcher" the icon on the right side bar, at the top. (grid dots with a single wavy blue line thru it.) Choose to draw a rectangle. hit the check mark to accept and close sketcher. Now, you see a red rectangle in space. it's red, because it's currently selected. now, choose the extrude tool on the right hand bar, close to the middle. (it's a light blue square, that has been pulled into a box shape.) This will now create a solid rectangle, with lots of yellow volume. you can drag the size to what you want, or enter a dimension. Then, click the green check mark at the top right. You've just created a solid 3d object. You should now be able to hold the middle mouse and change the view angles. Or, you can choose the paper and camera icon on the top menu bar (in the middle), and choose a view. top right left etc. save.

Now, you can choose to create a new assembly. then place your existing part into that assembly (you can draw in an assembly, but you don't want to yet. Draw only in the parts, and assemble the parts.). to assemble your existing part., in the assembly, from the right bar, choose the yellow L with light blue square (not +paper). a menu will pop up. on the left, choose "In Session" because you have the part open as well still, and select the part. choose open. the part appears, and I would just right click on the part, and choose "default location" from the pop up menu. Now, you can create a new part, and then add to this assembly.

There are lots of tips and tutorials about the net to look for. I'd also suggest youtube videos in general, and E-Cognition has the best, but a little more advanced.
