Using view manager to exclude skeletons

roddines

New member
I am a beginner to ProE of12 monthsand completely new to usingskeletons. I wantto hide the skeleton model object elements (shown in blue)that are created in the skeleton so they do not show when the subassembly is placed in subsequent higher level assemblies. I can exclude the skeleton using the view manager but it only seems to dissappear in the current default view and any new ones I create and define. However as I place the saved subassembly and place it in a higher assembly I again see the blue skeleton?

Can anyone advise on this or point me in the right direction for studying about this issue further. I dont fully understand all the features in the view manager so I may be missing something fundamental here.

Thanks, Rod.

Here are few tips:
If you want not to show skeleton geometry or features like surfaces, datum planes, axis etc, just put those on layers (Show layers, right click in model tree, new layer, git it name like for example PLANES, put all planes in this layer, save layer, blank this layer and in the end save layer status).
This way you will have control when to display skeleton features just unblinking each layer separate (regarding what you need to see), or blanking them.
If you want all the time in assemblies not to see skeletons then in view manager you can create simp rep, in simp rep you can exclude skeletons but if in other asm you need references from skeleton then you don't have them because skeleton is excluded.
Then you can create new Style and Blank skeleton. This way you will have skeleton references but your skeleton won't bee visible.
And in the end when you assembly this subasm with skeleton into other asm you must select those simp rep in which you have excluded skeleton.
