Hi, I am looking for very basic exercises in order to start learning Pro Motion. Is it possible to find a few documents on the Internet ?

Hello Juju,

Below are some introductory materials for ProMechanica Motion:

Sample chapters from Schroff publishing:

http://www.schroff.com/scstore/pdfsample/1-58503-191-7-1.pdf

University of Victoria:

http://www.me.uvic.ca/~mech410/Tut2001/ProMMotion.pdf

However, I would not recommend studying this module as PTC is about to retire Motion soon:

Functions are integrated in Wildfire 2.0 ProMechanism module. But you need a license to run MDX and an extension license for Mechanism Dynamics(MDO).

Here are some tutorials for your reference:

Hope this helps and good luck!

You probably would be more interested in Pro/Mechanism MDO than Pro/Mechanica Motion. The latter was discontinued and replaced with MDO.

Hi, sorry I haven t understood your answer Natewebb, can you explain it again please.

I also found 3 tutorials for Pro Mechanica Motion in the help provided with the software, it seems quite interesting.

Thanks Fire-dragon, the document "Pro/Mechanica Motion : Mechanism Design and Analysis" seems really interesting, is it possible to find more chapters ?

Hi Juju,

I'm not sure if the other chapters are available. These are actually sample chapters from the book.

Anyway, it would be an advantage to understand the principles behindmechanismdesign and analysisfirst. Then you can move on to studying the rest using the help. You can also "experiment" and just useyour curiousity to learn more about the module.

OK, i am trying to learn a bit about that by using the help. I will bea good beginning. thanks
