WAT IS CONFIG.WIN

The config.win file is (if existing) stored in your startup directory for Pro/E.

It is basically used to store your preferences about how you want your screen to look (toolbars, menus, etc).

To access it (in wildfire 2.0), go to Tools -> Customize Screen - this also allows you to save the config.win file to a location you specify.

As with the config.pro, the config.win file uses a hierarchical approach to configuration file settings. First, it looks in the loadpoint/text and home directories, then at the local directory. The settings are reflected as it moves down the hierarchy.

You can retain different window configurations by saving multiple versions of config.win and loading the desired configuration file during a session, rather than by changing a single config.win file every time your window configuration needs to change.

it's my belief the forums are for questions you cant readily find answers to.

when your default action is to take up peoples time asking questions that would have taken LESS TIME to LOOK UP than to post then youre being inconsiderate and lazy.

you had a question recently about patterning belt teeth on a curve...... now that was aGOOD question. an I personally spent over an hour trying to find you a solution, and asking others in my office as well. -and still have not found one that works :( -and I'm a ptc instructor.

but dont "cry wolf" all the time with the silly stuff. that's the sort of crap/usefull ratio that drives out the users who could perhaps have helped you with your pattern question.

Also, there are people who hate "net lingo" all the stupid spellingshortcuts.... so why use it? it turns off some of the people who might have an answer. Some of us are not that hip and don't keep up with the terms. It makes it hard to read. When your looking for free answers why would you intentionally offend any portion of the pool of resources?

It was mean of metocall youa Troll. Sorry.

Sincerely Dan Sergison.

I do understand your view on the matter Mr Sergison and take back my comment about you, however as an experienced user you have an obligation as a forum member to help so called 'newbies' as one day they will more than likely help you! no matter how experienced you are

Happy modelling and would be interested to hear of belt solution

nahhhh- gotta say- there is a level of accountability on the part of the USER to try and find answers or workarounds on thier own, and to come here in true need, and not out of laziness.
