Water Hose Thread

I have created a design that I want to be able to connect to a water hose. I have been told that the thread for a water hose is called a "Hose Bib". Does anyone knowhow to do this or where to find any help with this?

Thanks

I thought a hose bib was the entire spigot assembly sticking out of the wall... but I'm not a construction expert.

Are youtrying to re-create the thread on the end of the spigot where a garden hose would attach? A quick google search revealed that threaded fittings in North America are a standard 3/4" GHT thread. I'm not sure what GHT means.

I want to make it an internal thread that the hose would thread into. The GHT stands for Garden Hose Thread. I did some searching on that last year when I first started my design. I just can't find any details on the thread specs. It may be something I can modify in the program to create the cut.

Any help on this would be much appreciated.

From FED-STD-H28/10A Paragraph 4.1:
4.1 Garden hose coupling threads. Couplings for 1/2, 5/8, and 3/4 inch nominal hose sizes use 314-11.5NH threads or alternatively 314-11.5NHR threads. Basic profile of NH threads has a 60 degree included angle with major and minor diameter flat widths of 1/8 pitch.
NHR threads are shallower than NH threads and are used on thin walled material which is formed to the required profile. Garden hose coupling threads, thread gages and acceptability requirements shall be in accordance with ASME B1.20.7-1991.
I think this means look at ASME B1.20.7-1991 for specifics.
Hope this helps- Peter

Do a search for ASME B1.20.7 (no date). $35 to download the PDF. I looked in our own standards library and didn't see this one. Hopefully it has what you need in it.

That's probably the best you're going to do, unless someone on the forum is willing to send you a page or two.
