WF 2.0 Extrude tool: missing dashboard ic

Hi,

In WildFire 1.0, the dashboard of the Extrude tool has an icon that seems to be 'missing' in WildFire 2.0.
It is the icon to create a section (basically, to go to the sketcher) (see attached picture).

In WildFire 2.0 I have to do an extra click on the 'Placement' icon, then click on 'Define'.
Is this a WF 2.0 'improvement', or is there a way to get the old icon there anyway ..?

Hi EddyVE. I know about it too but I think that this is better for quicker modeling in Proe WF 2.0 as well and sorry I dont know about way to add old icon to the dashboard.

Use RMB and then "Edit Internal Sketch".

That's an alternative, thanks!
But it is still one mouse click more than in WF 1.0

At a rate of more than 8000 mouse clicks a day, I try to avoid them as much as I can (RSI, Repetitive Strain Injury, you know ....)

Yes the RMB and Define Internal Sketch is the way of WF 2.0, actually I don't remember how it was in WF 1.0, but for me way in WF 2.0 is ok.


Here are some config.pro options to improve speed to go in and out sketch
feature_create_auto_begin yes
sketcher_starts_in_2d yes
FEATURE_CREATE_AUTO_OK yes

I have map keys for basic features, which directly goes into the feature & ask me to choose the sketch plane.The ideais quite handy for me........might be also helpfull to you.

hi folks,

i've noticed the same problem. we updated from wf1 to wf2 laste week and my
user friends have been on my back all week since then ) or rather :-((
i tried the config option feature_create_auto_begin but it has no effect in
wf2 m190. i just got off the phone with ptc support and i'll let u know when i
get some feedback

I created an icon and mapkey. The mapkey opens the sketch menu (just like the sketch icon in WF1.0). I've positioned it directly below the "Extrude Tool" icon since most features start with that tool. I just click once on the "Extrude Tool" icon and then once on the custom icon and I'm in the sketch menu to orient my sketch. No more moving from one corner of the screen to the other. I still use it in WF2.0, though I had to change it due to menu pick changes. It works any time you need a sketch which starts from the dashboard.
