WF 4.0 IDD surf to bodies

New member
I have imported a file ...

Proe sees 1 body and 4 lumps ( i can see it in the info window during loading)...so in the model tree I have : "Imported feature id...." if I make an"edit definition" andI enter the IDD I can see all surfaces grouped in 4 different groups ( the 4 lumps). I would like to make each of these groups a solid by itself so that exiting IDD I can see 4 separate bodies instead of one....is it possible?

Thanks in advance

Your English is perfect. Your a North American. I should play with iges import functions more as should we all. Wildfire 4.0 is a significant upgrade w/ respect to import geometry.

What difference does it make how the geometry brakes up, as long as the surface geometry creates a stitched solid.

Thanks D-E

The difference is I can see the 4 components as stand-alone"stitched surf" (ready to be solidified) onlyin the IDD interface (see second picture) but I cannot solidify them and go back to modeling with the 4 separate bodies instead of one ( pic 1)

P.s. my english is not soperfect if you did not get the point

Cut the entire geometry (after stitching) by extruding a surface from a sketched line.Merge one half or the other. Try to solidify one half or the other. If one half solidifies you know your problem is in the other half. Modify your sketched curve so the solidify fails. Doing this technique you will narrow down your problem ... like working on a car.
