whats the best way to do this?

I need to fill with thickness (.065) the cut out on the front of the
frame. Is there a simple way of doing this? I tried triming the surface
I used for a cut in the solidify feature to the tube protrusion but it
wouldn't let me. Fill doesn't work either.

is there a chance that you can create this pipe as a solid (i.e. not hollow), then make that cut, then shell it?


If not, then can you use one of those oblong edges as a trajectory for a sweep feature?


Fill only works for planar sketches if I recall correctly...

Two surfaces using your cut edges then merge?
