Windchill 8 terms

We are currently moving to Windchill 8.0 and haven't used a pdm in the past. Does anybody know of a cheat sheet that will give a definition of Windchill terminology and icons?

Thanks

I'd advise you NOT to do it. It has some very serious issues with performance. Intralink 3X was excellent in terms of functionality and performace. Intralink 8/ PDMLink has been stripped of most of its functionality and bad performance written in to boot. Is 3 minutes to check in a standalone assembly with 2 parts to it acceptable to you? Or 11 minutes to check in around 60 items?

We have Winchill 8.0 also. Just switched back to Pro E, so I can't compare it to Intralink. We've discovered some things to speed up the process. There is also a TPI for network admins on setting they need to do to improve Windchill performance. It seemed to help. The last two suggestions on the link above may help also.

PS there is also a config.pro setting to increase your Workspace cache size if you find yourself dealing wtih excessively large assemblies (over 400 MB).

I believe it is dm_cache_size. The default is 400 (MB). We've had success with 4000, but that's because we are actually dealing with assemblies that run 3 GB or larger
